Why is Presidential Candidates supporting Ethanol when it is not worth its weight in gold?

Because they are as ignorant as the President who endorsed this is. It was just a way to continue to justify subsidies to corn producers, not actually cut gas prices or improve the environment. Now there are alternatives that are 50 times more efficient than corn, but the corn farmers are still getting paid to grow it.
