My husband's blood pressure is SYS 101, DIA 45 Pulse 55. Is that too low?

A normal BP reading is generally any where from 120/80 to 140/80, depending on the overall health of your husband. A pulse count normally is between 72-90 BPM. Does your husband take any medications that regulate his heart beat or slow its beat? For instance, my readings are usually 110/70. My pulse rate was between the high 50's to low 60's. I generally have felt fatigued because of it. I then went to my Dr. and discovered I was taking two medications prescribed to slow my heart rate down. It has been a week since I was removed from one and my BP is now between 70-75 BPM. I feel somewhat more energetic. I think your husband's diastolic readings are rather low. All of this, again, is dependent upon his general health and on whatever prescriptions, if any, that he is taking. A systolic reading of 101 is quite low. His feet and fingers are most likely cold to the touch. Does he have any symptoms of low blood pressure such as headaches and dizziness? You should consult with his primary care physician regarding these readings. It could be a natural body reading or it may be caused by another factor such as meds. Good luck!
