Need info on an old Ford Maverick. I own a 76 w/the 302, C4 and 8 1/2" rear end How much weight can I tow?

The C4 trans would not be set up for towing and as stated before you don't have a lot of horsepower pulling that car. 1976 those cars were smogged out unlike the 1969, 70 302 motors. You would need to put a trans cooler and make sure you have a really good trailer hitch since it is a unibody car it does not have a frame. They did have police packages but not a tow package, if you want to keep it in good shape I would say don't use it to tow.
